Today is the first day of fall and we couldn’t be happier because that means that we are one step closer to winter! Utah, however, might be even closer to winter than the rest of us. A storm projected to hit the Salt Lake City area tonight could bring snow to the Wasatch that is measured in feet!

As of today, Open Snow claims that “6-12″ is a good bet for the high elevations by Saturday morning.” This will be a predominantly rain event so we might see the dry Utah snow that the state is famous for. The National Weather Service Hazardous Weather Outlook for the area is predicting that “snow levels will fall to near seven thousand feet at times Friday and Saturday.”
